Info
-when Yellow Rock geysers discovered (by white people) in unorganized territory over transatlantic railroad construction (under American Presidents > 1853-1861 Robert F. Stockton (People's)), there is talk of preserving it forever
-Stockton doesn't give a shit, sees rise of hotels and the like
-which causes outrage at natural beauty tainted
-specter of Yellow Rock becoming "Niagarized", a giant tourist trap akin to Niagara Falls
-to horror of preservationists who don't like at all how it's been built upon
-under his successor American Presidents > 1861-1865 Richard Menefee (Unionist), unorganized territory north of Nibrasca around geysers organized
-sees quite a few tourists come and also a leg of the railroad now goes there
-railroad company gets rich and fat promoting tourism in this era
-also it gets American nationalist mythos on basis of it being a sort of American equivalent of the cathedrals of Europe
-during Liberty and Union War (1868-76) Nibrasca Territory slaveowners face off against Constitutionalists
-some of this fighting occurs in Yellow Rock itself
-with Sioux threatening to go to war with both or either of the sides of the war meaning not a whole lot happens
-aside from some skirmishes
-postwar becomes major tourist attraction, iconic symbol of the US
-with structured hotels, and even towns (Yellow Rock Town and North Yellow Rock Town), within a strictly delineated district
-near train stations and around these are the only places development (low-rises) allowed
-US needs to promote tourism to make money on railroad
-because railroads to west aren't that profitable especially since there are two of them
-everything here requires licensing permits
-and all that does not have these permits gets destroyed
-aside from some war memorials to the Battle of Yellow Rock and tour lodges and the like
-permits are also essentially temporary things, leases which have to be renewed
-allegations of corruption are very common
-despite tight procedure for permits existing
-on other side, Buenaventura has protected park which is connected as an international park
-no passport permissions required to cross between the two (nowadays)
-two quasi-towns within territory
-North Yellow Rock Town and Yellow Rock Town
-both are centered around old and grand train stations
-also contains auto and Velocipede parking
-shops are strictly licensed within government lands
